Imagine what it could feel like to find total fulfillment in your career. For Carol Fields, CME/H, HMCC Senior Manager, Congress Management at Edwards Lifesciences she has been passionate about being in Healthcare. Whether you are a Healthcare industry veteran or want to learn more about the industry, Carol’s wisdom will inspire you from CSR projects to finding best practices for gaining visibility.
1. Participate in a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Project. Carol has participated every year in a CSR project at HCEAConnect and it has been an inspirational way to kick off the meeting. Make CSR a best practice at your events and feel good about giving back to the community.
2. Share stories about how your company’s products had a positive impact on patients. Edwards Lifesciences makes heart valves and Carol described how patients want to come to the company and thank the person who sewed the valve that saved their life. Sharing in the patient’s personal journey really creates the “Why” for being in the Healthcare industry.
3. Have Your Voice Heard-Join an Exhibitor Advisory Council. It is a great way to get involved and provide valuable feedback to the associations. By getting involved you also are allowing your organization to have a voice about the future plans for the trade show.
4. Experience the Benefits of Volunteering. Finding an organization like the Healthcare Convention & Exhibitor Association (HCEA) where there are opportunities to expand your personal network can be personally uplifting. Networking is so key and by being involved with an industry association there is always someone you can go to and get a recommendation.
